Huge-Crazy Storms Impacting the NFL--and Climate Change?

December 15, 2013

A lot of people in the past couple of weeks have been talking about how these huge snow and ice storms have been making it just hell for college and pro football.

Since Big Football is such a enormous business, it occurred to me that if climate change in the form of crazy-bad storms and monsoons and tornadoes and floods, etc., starts to seriously affect the National Football League's profit margin, THEN we might actually stand a good chance of getting some serious climate change legislation from Congress, since nothing is allowed to stand in the way of the juggernaut giant Cash Cow that is the NFL.

A million grandparents and orphans could drown in floods or freeze to death or burn up or get blown into the next county, or what have you, and Republicans couldn't care less.  Paul Broun's "lies from the pit of hell!" comment is pretty much exactly the official position of the Republican party on climate change.  But if wealthy sports businessmen and fans get impacted?  That will be a different.
